A Venue for all Seasons

Each season paints a unique masterpiece at Lancrigg – from snow-capped fells in Winter to blossoms and daffodils in Spring, endless blue skies in Summer and magical colours in Autumn. Our venue guarantees a second-to-none backdrop for your celebration, with fabulous photo opportunities wherever you look. With 17 bedrooms accommodating up to 42 guests, we offer you the chance to extend the celebrations with your closest family and friends. With a mix of family rooms, ground-floor accommodation, double, twin and kingsize rooms. Even furry friends are welcome and will love our barn rooms with underfloor heating and direct access to the grounds.

The Barn

Our beautiful Grade II listed Lakeland barn has been lovingly restored and is a fabulous versatile space, just waiting to be transformed with your unique personality and vision. With its exposed wooden beams, open-plan layout and fabulous fell views, it offers an idyllic setting for your dream Lake District wedding. It’s the perfect venue for your wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and post wedding party!

Designed to comfortably host up to 108 seated guests, the heated barn features an exclusive speakeasy bar, modern bathrooms, a catering kitchen tent, wood-fired pizza oven, and a spacious outdoor courtyard – perfect for unforgettable gatherings in every season.

The House

Our historic Grade II listed country house is perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings. The historic dining room has fabulous fell views, the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony.

Steeped in history and filled with character, it really is a beautiful and unique venue for your special day.  With roots dating back to the 1600s, it has welcomed many distinguished guests over the years, including William Wordsworth, Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin.
As a family-owned venue, Lancrigg blends history with elegance, offering couples a place where their love story becomes part of its enduring heritage. We look forward to adding your chapter to the history books.

The Grounds

With 31 acres of private woodland, gardens, and open fields and the most spectacular backdrop of the Grasmere fells, our grounds offer a simply breathtaking location for your outdoor wedding ceremony and endless opportunities for fabulous photos!

Imagine taking your vows beneath our beautiful Beech tree, perfectly framed by the Grasmere fells. Or keeping your guests entertained with some lawn games, the perfect way to relax after the ceremony. Our top lawn and terrace is the perfect place for you and your guests to mingle over drinks and canapés as you soak up the breathtaking views.

For larger, festival style weddings, there’s plenty of room for a marquee or stretch tent on the lower lawn. And thanks to our secluded location, at the foot of Helm Crag, we get the most amazing skies on a clear night. What could be more perfect than dancing under the stars on your wedding night, surrounded by family and friends?

Wedding Packages

We offer a choice of wedding packages, giving you the freedom and flexibility to tailor your dream Lake District wedding to suit your vision, timeline and budget – your wedding, your way! Enjoy exclusive use of the entire estate, with 17 bedrooms for both weekend and midweek weddings — all surrounded by breathtaking views of the Easedale fells and iconic Helm Crag. The perfect location for an extended celebration with all your favourite people!

Our midweek weddings are offered Tuesday – Thursday and weekend weddings are Friday – Sunday. There may be an option to add an extra night, subject to availability.

Depending on the number of guests you can choose to hold your ceremony in our gorgeous grounds with fabulous fell views, or in our beautiful barn which has been lovingly restored. Our historic Country House is perfect for smaller weddings.

We’re thrilled to work with some of the best wedding suppliers in the whole of the Lake District including photographers, florists, caterers and musicians. You’ll be given access to this exclusive list when you book your wedding with us.

Dog Friendly Weddings

We often get asked if we’re a dog friendly wedding venue and the answer to that is absolutely!

Lots of our couples choose to include their dogs in their special day – whether that’s proudly walking down the aisle with the rings or simply stealing hearts from the sidelines. Dogs are very much part of the celebrations here. We can recommend a fabulous dog chaperone to help out on the day too.

Lots of our bedrooms are pet friendly – the barn rooms are particularly suitable for guests with dogs, with underfloor heating and direct access to our grounds. And with all those fabulous walks on the doorstep, it would be rude not to bring your dog with you!

You’re very welcome to bring your dog with you when you come for a tour, and if you’d like some suggestions of local walks we’ll be happy to offer some suggestions.

Late Availability

We still have some great dates available for 2026 weddings including Easter Bank Holiday weekend. We’ll help you every step of the way and can put you in touch with some of our favourite suppliers too. Just get in touch for more details!
